CloudBerry Lab released version 1.5 of the popular online data backup service known as Cloudberry Backup for Windows Home Server. The new version introduces a Simple Mode, Reduced Redundancy Storage and Asia Pacific Server support.


CloudBerry Online Backup for Windows Home Server provides enterprise class data protection by copying your data to secure online storage powered by Amazon S3. Amazon S3 provides a highly durable storage infrastructure. Objects are redundantly stored on multiple devices across multiple facilities in an Amazon S3 Region. Amazon S3 provides a simple web services interface, coupled with the CloudBerry Backup for Windows Home Server users can store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web.


Simple Mode


The newer version introduces a Simple Mode that enables users to create exact copy of their data on Amazon S3 and allows accessing that data with any S3 compatible tools. There will be no wired folders and you can access your data with other Amazon S3 client such as S3 Fox, S3Hub (Mac), CloudBerry Explorer freeware



Reduced Redundancy Storage (RRS)


Reduced Redundancy Storage (RRS) enables users to store data in Amazon S3 at a 33% discount to the standard pricing in return for a reduced level of durability. The newer version of CloudBerry Backup allows users to take advantage of RSS by specifying appropriate settings.


Asia Pacific Region Support


Asia Pacific region has been recently added to the list of AWS supported regions allowing businesses with customers based in Asia leverage AWS’s cloud infrastructure. With new release of CloudBerry Backup users can back up their data to the data center located in Asia Pacific region.
